Hi all

Once again, all is in the title. A new zone has also been confirmed on 10m tnx to DU9RG.

I'm now approaching the 30 zones confirmed there, despite of the good propagation of the mast few years, cool isn't it ?

Update: 2nd of Dec

Well, I guess I was lucky. 2 QSO's during the first WE, and now, 1 week without any chance....

'd like a bit a SSB on 80m at my sunrise time, this is my best chance there. We have 45min of common night in my morning, and this LP QSO would be possible (already made from here with several ZL's). They are active on 80m, but on CW only.....

Regarding 17m or 15m, well, I'd like to hear them there but in the week time, I have to leave home 30min max after my sunrise, so those bandes, if they had to open, are not opened yet !

We'll see next WE, but hey, already 2 QSO's is a great thing. Let's say a 3rd one would be a BIG bonus, but let's also prepare to the next CY0 expedition (I hope a future "All Tme New One" from the 6th of December !)

First real day of activity, and already 2 bands (40/20m) contacted.

Each QSO has been very lucky, espcially on

- 20m where the propagation was quickly decreasing (turning to NA)

- 40m where I did the QSO at the very end of my grey-line (I heard him 20min only there)

Maybe 80m tomorrow morning, that was would be more than great !

73, GL to all

Hi all,

Finally, after almost 1 year of expectation, I got XW3DT confirmed today (All Time New One).

That was hard, but it arrived today (and is very nice !)

Tnx to RK3DT Alex,

Hi all,

Few activities those last days, including a new one on 12m with Henri, TJ3AY.

This brings me up to 199 DXCC contacted so far on 12m, and therefore, the 200th is not htat far.

Who will be my 200th DXCc on 12m ??????

One thing is sure, I started 2010 wilth 161 DXCC contacted. Almost a year after, 38 new ones have been contacted on 12m (+23% !!!!!). Is it a sign that solar cycle 24 has started. I think yes, even if this rising curve is slow.....

73 !

Ronan

PS : Note also a RARE one on 15m with EZ7V QSO last WE. Turkmenistan is RARE indeed, and EZ7V is the only official station from there, transmitting with around 20W only.

Hi all,

Got a nice QSL yesterday from South Africa : Ivor (C91IW) made a very fast QSL response, with a nice word on the back of his QSL.

If you read those lines Ivor (I'm sure you'll do ), MANY THANKS for QSO + QSL !!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

3 nice QSL in the mail today (it's been a long time without new cinfirmation !). All is in the title.

Thanks to all for QSL'ing, and a special thanks to KG4WV who sent me back 1 GS over the 2 I included in my letter. This is simply courtesy and ham spirit !

That was a tough thing to do, but yesterday, I saw a spot saying that Uli ZD9AH, would try again 40m at his sunrise time (05:45tu).

I woke-up at 05:00, he was just starting simplex on 7090.

Very weak here, but slightly improving.

He moved to slit operation, +3KHz up as he is used to do.

Lots of QRM, but only a few callers. I took my chance, even if he was barely readable.

I heard him answering back, in the same timing as my comments, without anybody trying to "go over me". Got a 5/5 report, and that was it at 05:45.

Hard, but this is the 6th band slot with Uli, and the 4th new band for ZD9 !!!!!!!! Just miss it on 80m now, which is definitely impossible for now.

Tnx Uli !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

First time from a long time I haven't been calling "CQ", but in the last couple of days, I've listened to some nice JA signals on th elong path.

This is indeed a long haul, more than 30.000 km from my QTH !

JA7ND, JQ1QKK and a 3rd one (my apologizes, don't remmeber the call....) in the log, with S7 to S9 reports here.

Next time, I'll try to call "CQ LP JA" in QRP conditions, that would definitely beat my distance record with 5W !!!!!!!

Hi all,

Some thoughts about this CQWW SSB 2010 in which I participated as usually only for chasing new band slots, new ones and/or new zones.

I've been quite active, even in the night time, but not that much in the day time: Propagation on 10m has been terrible, and I had not much interest in 20m and 15m.

Here is a list of what I did:

Zone 19 on 40m, my last one, tnx RT0C !!!!!!

Saturday, 2 hours before sunset, RT0C was readable here through the BIG QRM. I called, in vain. Too hard. At around 18:00z, he came back, better signals, but contesters needed multipliers and I couldn't get through....

Sunday, RT0C spotted, still 2 hours before sunset. I was working a few JA's, the skip looked better than the day before. He turned his antenna to EU and his signal came up from S4 to real S9, that was my chance. Few callers, but big guns, and I fighted 30min to get through.

YES, I worked my very last zone on 40m !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PJ2T: QSO's on 80/40/20 and 15m as an ALL Time New One. Nil on 10m.

AH0BT, 40m. Roughly the same as RT0C, with the same QRM. 1.5 hour of call Saturday, in vain. I went through at the 2nd call Sunday ! New one on 40m ! Nil on 80m.

V48M, 40m, quite easy yestderday. Nil on 80m.

A73A : QSO's on 80 and 40m, new one on 80. Last band for A7 !

VP9/AA4V : QSO's on 80/40/20/15m, new one on 80m, nil on 10m.

(I wrkd VP9/N4SF on the 28th of Oct as a new on 12m)

FP/KV1J : QSO on 15m, new one there.

S79K: QSO on 80/40/20/15/10m !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! New one on both 80 and 10m, great ears, great signals. Today, log on line is updated and all of the QSO's are there, COOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a summary

- 1 new zone only, but my very LAST one on 40m !!!!!!!!!!!! I have the 40 zones there now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- 1 All Time New One with PJ2T

- New ones on 80m : A73A, VP9/AA4V, S79K, PJ2T : +4 !

- New ones on 40m : AH0BT, V48M, PJ2T : +3 !

- New one on 15m : FP/KV1J : + 1 !

- New one on 10m : S79K : +1 !

With a better propagation on 10m, it would have been funnier. But I can not complain. RT0C and z19 really made this contest GREAT !

But hey, this is the propagation's fault, and I have some many band slots to be filled-in.....

Last week has been really extra-ordinary, and I could "finish" 13 DXCC thanks to 12 and/or 10m QSO's (XE, TI, etc etc....).

I know that it will become more and more difficult, but I'm now approaching 200 DXCC's on 12m (198 actually) and jut came over the 175 DXCC on 10m...That's not so bad when you know that I re-started my ham activities 4 years ago only, with a solar cycle 23 already very "tired"....and a slow cycle 24 to come.

If things continue, I may add a new target for my ham "objectives", with 200 DXCC on 10 and 225 on 12m within the next year ???? !!!! ???? Hopefully they will be achieved, this would mean cycle 24 has really began !!!!!
