Few words about me...
I was born in 1975 in Brittany province, North-West of France, where I still live.
Strongly influenced by my dad (now SK, F5CKM), I decided to pass my full-exam in March 1996. Equipment we were using has always been simple
(Homemade G5RV, 100W), but at that time, that was enough to cover the world even on 10m band, HI.
I got graduated as PhD Electronics & radio-com systems (1998 ) but got away
from radio in the years 1999/2000 when starting "active life", living in a very small appartment, getting married and having 3 kids, so without much time or money to spend on the hobby.
Nowadays, I'm living for almsot 9 years in a sub-urban area with a small garden, but wide enough to set-up some antennas. So back on the air at the end of 2005, after more than 5 years
of silence, and having missed the previous solar cycle peak.
I decided to re-start everything from scratch from this new QTH, and I do my best to continuously experiment and/or homebrew some staff (electronics, antenna, etc) to improve my "small pistol" station.
Kind on DX'ing, IOTA's, I'm also chasing WAZ and WAS.. and I'm active from 160 up to 6m.
Equipment:
FT-920 Yaesu fitted with all filters (1.8 / 2.1 KHz IF for SSB, 250/400Hz for CW) & TS-450SAT as back-up
Desk microphone MD100
CW key MFJ564 (Iambic double paddle)
HexBeam for 20/17/15/125/10
Homemade Inverted-L (13m vert/6m sloping) for 160/80/40/30
Ameritron AL811H (4 * 811a, running at 500W PEP max here)
Panoramic view from my QTH :
Highest obstacle is located at 0.8 miles from my antenna, and it is 50 feet higher than my antenna height --> elevation angle of antenna must be higher than 1.54°, quite flat
