VK9NI Episode 4: I heard them on 40mSSB this morning

But dawn, they were so weak here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was about 05:00GMT, half an hour after my sunrise, and they could be herd here for 30min...

Barely readable, right on my noise level, sometimes above, somtimes below, but they were there (and it seems they have god ears there !). First I ever heard them on 40m so far (and more generally Norfolk isl on 40m), without too many callers, except some DL big guns and the usual EA/I stations...
I tried to call when he was listening up 5, quickly switching between my RX and TX frequency to see if someone was answering instead of me. Nothing heard on my TX freq, but also almost nothing heard on my RX freq (so VK9NI freq...).

Propagation is far from being good here, even for my best path to South Pacific (LP on morning time, 1 hour after sunrise).

I may have come too late here, but at 05:00GMT, it is 1 hour BEFORE sunset on Norfolk..So is it worth trying earlier?

80m will definitely be impossible on morning time, as well on evening time (huge QRN yesterday evening)

For the moment, on their in-line log, only 5 French stations made QSO with them, only on 40m. 04:00-05:00AM, and 18/19/20:00 GMT...Now I know whne I should listen -so put the clock a bit earlier in the morning...- but it will be a hard task. No other QSO from France on any other band except 40m....
For our firend in the UK (close to my QTH with similar propagation compared to southern France), only 1QSO was made, congrats to G0LBL on 17m...Nothing after that !!!!!!

From zone 14 (which includes also South Europe and their famous advantage on propagation), only 64 QSO's made so far.... This is a slow expedition beginning.....On 40m (my band of interest), peak for zone 14 is at 7:00AM (actually between 06 to 07:00AM), which must corresond to Western part of zone 14...

Wait and see....Maybe tonight? If not, I'll be carefully listening tomorrow morning from 05:00...
If you are located in Western Europe (above the 45° North parallel), thanks for letting me know when you heard them better and if you could make it on 40m....
