A nice chart available here : hfradio.org/fot_7.html, giving the FOT (Optimum frequency, which is in fact a percentage of the famous Maximum Usable Frequency, well-known as MUF)

Good luck with Australia on 24 MHz at around 09:00z....

High bands (24/28 MHz) should be reserved for QSO with Middle East and Africa in afternoon time, moving to south America at the beginning of the evening.

21 MHz can be closed all day long...

But openings to Pacific can happen in the morning time on both 14 and 18 MHz...

Don't look for Asia on bands higher than 21 MHz.

We can also see that some paths remain open 24hour a day on the upper HF bands (Carribean, South America, even some Far-East and Australia !!!!!!!)

I've been following this chart for quite a few months now, and based on my location/conditions (HexBeam at 45 feet high), I roughly have to remove between 3 up to 5 MHz to the values written in this chart to find a good correlation with my log (Depending on time and bearing drection)

Using a 3 or 4 elements mono-bander would better fit this chart for sure !

Good DX for you !

A few days again, and the solar indexes went down, below the SFI 70 barrier...

Very rare openings here in West-Europe, lots of static noise...I'm really looking forward for the next solar cycle to start concretly !!!!!!

Have we already reached the bottom part of the cycle ????
