Hi all,
Well, this morning has been unfruitfull too, as the previous days. VK9NI was spotted on 40m more than 2 hours after my sunrise, meaning this is almost impossible when considering actual propagation condition.
They really should have come earlier on the morning time (at around 06:00 at the latest) to give a chance for Western-Europe. This also explains why EA/CT and EA8 got more chances on the morning, since their sunrise occurs roughly 1 hour after mine....So when VK9NI starts on 40 SSB at 07:00, this is a good time for them.
Now, for the possible path on our evening time their sunrise occurs roughly at the same time as our sunset in West france. This sounds good indeed for low band QSO, BUT when this moment happens, the total path is NOT on the dark side of the gray-line. This path should have been entirely on the dark side of the gray line only if I was living at least 500km more East....this may explain why other guys in central/south EU can hear them on the evening (I/YT/SV etc)
Definitely, this is the worst period of the year from my QTH to get VK9N on 40m...
Anyway, it will hence be for a next one...
