K5D Desecheo, Episode 6 (the end): 40m QRP QSO !!!!

Hi all,

This morning is the last day of K5D expedition.
Well, that was a great one for men since I got them on 80/40/20/17/15m (my inital goal was at least 1 band, ideally 3 HI !).
On 40m this morning, he was peaking 10dB over 9 here, so I decided to try in QRP (5W) and called a few times just before he went to CW.
He heard me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although the pile-up was strong, being located in West- Europe helped me a lot (SR + 1 hour !). The op said that we already made the QSO, so I replied "yes, but not in QRP conditions !"

I hope I'll be also logged as F8AFC/QRP on 40m, let's wait and see the log on linne after this.

For me, this was the last QSO with K5D, as I have to go tho the office now, and because they'll QRT at their sunrise. I just regret that propagation was not open on 12/10m, but hey, we are still in the minimum of the solar cycle !!!!!!!

In all cases, That was a great expedition enabling many hams to get Desecheo in their log, which is a VERY rare one as everybody knows !
Next one will be KP1 next year, HI !!!!!!!!

The bands will be very calm after this.....
