K5D Desecheo, episode 2 : QSO's on 40 and 80m !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!

That was a lucky morning here, I coud get through the HUUUUUUGE pile-u p of K5D on both 40 and 80m QSO.
40m was VERY lucky : He listened during a VERY short while below 7.1 MHz, which was a first inconvenient. But he also was right in the middle of broadcast stations around 7190MHz !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On 80m, that was another story: He was rather slow, and calling by numbers. I  waited about 1 hour here, and worked him 30min after sunrise. I was scared, because he peaked up to 5/9 before the sunrise, then started to fade out.....Because the QSO rate was rather slow (due to local QRM from other K5D expedition that's waht he said), I really feared that he would have been gone when reaching number 8.
But I was lucky and was the 3rd station with n°8 that he worked !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll now sleep well, since my target is already done : At least 1 QSO, all other bands being "bonus" !!! I was sincerely not expecting to reach him first on both low bands But hey, I really can not complain.

Being on holidays next week, this would normally give me an "easy" opportunity to get him on the high bands.

I heard him until 19:30 o 15m, and until 22:00 on 20m (but he was working NA only). Yesterday afternoon, being the 1stv WE on the air...WHAT A ZOO !!!!!!!!!!! This should be quieter during the week time (I hope so !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

GL to all,

Ronan
