Is the HF2V a good antenna : 6 months experience

Max power used here = 500W PEP, the HF2V being ground mounted with 48 radials (30 feet long each)

HK0A on 80m, YB and VQ9 on 40/80m, VK9W and KH2 on 40m etc etc
This includes of course the Antipodes on both bands (VK/ZL), US West Coast, ad nice pile-ups breakings (E44M....you remember on 80/40m ?????)

So yes, I guess this antenna is a good one.

Mechanically speaking, it has survived winds above 110km/h (it is guyed at 5m high).
"Noise" speaking, it is indeed quite noisy, but it makes your ears work to get the "low" signals through the noise. (Typically, S5 noise on 80m and S4 noise on 40m, excluding electrical stormy crashes)
