News from the TVI war : Happy ham end !!!!

Hi all,

Good news !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The local authorities responsible for checking both ha station and TV set concluded very rapidely to a faulty TV set installation.

They made a demo by psuhing up a telescopic mast, just in front of this "angry" neighbour house : Placing a TV antenna on top, at the same height as the neighbour antenna, and using a reference TV in their van.
One guy was staying with me to check I was really transmitting at full power, the other one with the neighbour.

A bit a stress when keying down at 600W out...

No TI on their reference TV, the neighbour was "chocked" ! HI !!!!!!!
He immediately the city mayor, who gently came and obsered the same things (neighbour TV had TVI, not the reference TV of the local authorities)..

They also obsered my signal on a spectrum to see any possible "unwanted radiated signals"...Everything was clear.
More funny, other neighbours, attracted by this strange van, came to complain about TVI...(Never heard about them before !). They also came to the conclusion that they had faulty TV set.

One common point among all those neighbours : The same TV "installator" (don't know if this is the good word in English...) The root cause of this problem : A wide band TV preamplifier !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the war is over (this answer happened last wednesday !), and I now can re-run my station at full power (when necessary)....Like for VK9DWX on 15m this morning (yes, 4th band !), and a lot of West Indies on 80m this early morning too (FY5, 6Y, VP5 etc)..
I am tor receie a paper saying that there were no problems with my stations during those tests ad that my signals are CLEAN (what a relief !!!!!!!!!)
The neighbour will receive an official letter from the French telecom ministry (as he wanted...), but saying that his TV set is faulty. YES YES YES...So he'll have to invest into better equipment, or can choose to keep like this but being "perturbated".
The city mayor will also receive an official letter explaining the situation, pointing out that trhe fault is in the TV set and that my signals are clean !!!!

Conclusion :

If you are NOT suffering from TVI in your own installation, be confident : 99.99% of chance that the problem is inside the TV set installation of the neighbour..
If your neighbour is "as stupid" as mine, don't hesitate to call the authorities.
Of course, if he is not, then don't hesitate to discuss with him :-)

See you on the bands !!!!!!!!
