Alain, F4RPW, informs OPDX that he is now a resident of Mayotte, and has received the callsign FH1LE. He has just arrived on the island about 3 weeks ago. Alain is gradually getting all his equipment sorted and is planning to install his station soon (possibly this week).
He will use a vertical antenna to begin with (a 4BTV) and will be using a FT-897 (100w). Alain plans to operate on SSB, maybe CW if he can find the time to practice a little more. He also plans to operate digital modes (PSK31, RTTY) with a Microham interface. Alain also brought with him a beam antenna, a KT-34 upgraded with the latest kit, but he needs more things arranged to get it erected (He states, "I'm not sure the garden is large enough".).
