Hi all,
Just coming back from holidays on TK-land (Corsica), and just preparing my business trip to South Korea (departure tomorrow), I made a QSO with Guam on 17m, new one for me...I now have Guam on 40/20/17/15m, not that bad.

I'll be in South Korea during the All Asia SSB contest next week-end. I'll try to be active froml there if I can. Let's see.

But I'll also be back on the 11th of September, the day before FT5GA on Glorioso (Lucky !)

See you soon again, maybe from HL land, HI !

Hi all,

Most of you must have read the annoucement that TO4G (FR/G Glorioso) will be on the air next July for almost 3 weeks (9th to 28th of July, including 3 week-ends !!!!!!!) : http://glorieuses2008.free.fr/

This long expected expedidtion was delayed because this is a military French base in the Indian ocean, because meteorological conditions are quite tough, and because they need the Army to go there !!!!!
But the team was perseverant and finally succeeded in planning this trip !

In terms of pile-up, I guess they will be Huge...FR/G is ranked in 4th position of the most wanted DXCC. It will be hard to go through the pile-ups, but I hope I'll do it at least once for this All Time New One for me (I couldn't be active last time in 2003). Harder than FR/G, P5, 7O and KP1....Needless to make any comment there !!!!

With my modest equipment, I hope to get them on at least 20/17/15m...40m would be a bonus, and 80m a dream....But I'll do my best for sure (as all of us I guess !)

They'll use a nice equipement, Spiderbeams + linear on the high bands, 4-square + liner on 40m.

Let's hope first of all that they'll have a safe trip there, and that they'll listen to French small pistols in the zoo of worldwide big guns.....

Good luck to all

Hey, this would be an "all time new one" : Chatam isl is expected to be on the air next March (from 5th till 10th of March)

Due to poor prop conditions, I may more lickely try 20m LP on our morning time (as well as 40m at our sunrise).
Other openings (like on 17m) ay more lickely happen in the morning tie Short-Path, with South and East Euope wall !!!!!!

ZL7 is right at the other side of the world for me, one of the toughest path !!!!!!!!!

For example, on the 7th of March, for 80m band QSO
My Sunrise (SR) = 06:35z +/- 21minutes --> Window from 06:14 to 06:56
My Sunset (SS) = 17:57 +/- 21minutes --> Window from 17:36 to 18:18

ZL7 SS = 06:19 +/- 12m --> window from 06:07 to 06:31
ZL7 SR =  17:31 +/- 12m --> window from 17:19 to 17:43

What does it mean?

On my SR time, common times would be between 06:14 till 06:31 (let's say 15 minutes window, on LP !)
On my SS time, common times would be between 17:36 untill 17:43 (let's say 7 minutes, on SP !!!)

So I have 22 minutes per day possinility to get a QSO with ZL7 on 80m (of course, assuming propagation is there !)

Hi all,

Just read this info saying that Western Sahara will be on the air for 6 days next April, from the 12th till the 17th of April.
I miss Western Sahara on 80 and 10m only , hope to get them there !!!!!!
This DXCC is not far from Europe, but is quite rarely activated (once every 1 or 2 years)....I hope to contact it on my remaining bands!

So far so good : 6-bands so far, from 40 to 10m !!!!!!!!!
Even if the skip is VERY selective on 15/12/10m, there were some short burst opening, up to S2-S3, enabling me to make the QSO on those bands.
I now just miss 80m...Let's see tonight...

Hi all,

An international team of experienced DXpeditioners will operate from Pulau Layang Layang in the Spratly islands in early March 2009. The callsign will be announced shortly before the operation.

More info on : http://www.spratly2009.com/

I've already QSO + QSL Spratly on 20/17/15m...Let's keep my fingers crossed so that propagation will improve on the high bands, and maybe from then, I'll have a linear amp for the low bands, HI !

This one is quite rare (never heard EZ-land, Turkmenistan in the past couple or years). I didn't know that Turkmenistan had official operators other than EZ7Z...and that they were not allowed to transmit from there....(Local government seems to be quite strict, to remain polite....)

Alex had a good signal yesterday evening on 20m (QSO @ 20:15GMT, he had a real 5/7 report on my non-generous FT-920 !)

For those willing to get his QSL info, he doesn't have any manager. But his direct address (risky....) is:

EZ5AL Iskander Iakubov a/ia 6 Mary 745400 TURKMENISTAN  (qrz.ru)

You can also try at your own risk (and patience) the Turkmen buro
Liga Radiolyubiteley Turkmenistana, Box 555, Ashgabat 744020
