February, 18th morning
Not many rest after K1N, here is TI9/3Z9DX reaching the air from the last 2 days till th 23rd of February. The last expedition there for the next 10 years or so...I have Coco island on 20SSB only, many bands to chase !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First bad news : They have mountains right in Europe direction, hummmmmm
So I decided to chase them on all bands, except 20m of course. Yesterday evening, they were on 17cw with a readable signal, calling Europe for about 30min before going back to NA under pressure...NO luck.
This morning, I monitored their DQRM frequency on 40m (7024) but that was hard to hear them clearly. The operator moved a bit down, 7023.5, and made a few QSO, last one being at +3.7KHz, before QRX'ing. His signal was S5, but what a hord calling him, that was horrible.
When he came back 5min after, I had my 2nd VFO on +3.7KHz, and it took me 3 calls to get logged. Because of the DQRM, when he came back on the 1st time, I only heard ".....FC 5nn"....I standed-by, and when he repeated for the 2nd time, I clearly heard "F8AFC 5nn"....and that was it I then switched my VFO's, 25 guys were calling right on my frequency, that was a lucky one !!!!
n°289 on 40m (same as on 12m, as always), that's nice !!!!
GL to all, this will not be an easy one again !!!!!
