Hi all,
After a short dinner with friends, I went to the shack and heard very loudly 3B8GY on 40cw. He was strong, but the pile-up was, in consequence, also huge. I tried at least 30min before being logged, at aroudn 22:50z. Quite late, I must have been lucky enough so that other Europeans may have gone to bed. I just miss Madagascar on 80m now, this is another story.....
Few minutes after, I saw XW3DT spotted on 80m, 30min before his sunrise. That was my only chance to get him. I went on 80m, listened to his freq, but didn't hear anything. I kept monitoring when !i heard, out from noise, a signal passing "5nn TU". He was still there, listening a bit more than up 1, without too many callers. I took my chance, and heard an answer with the good timing. I passed again my call not that quickly, in the 18-20wpm speed, and acknoledged a "5nn TU". Then, I was lucky that the skip went "UP" during his answer, and could confirm he got my call OK.
This is a thrill to work Alex on 80m, this is actually my 3rd new band this year thanks to him (got the QSL for 40m, and recently, wkd him on 12/10m !)
Thanks guys for those nice QSO's !!!
