Hi all,

What an evening, while waiting for some propagation/activity from JD1/o on 40m, I did a bit of 80m and heard DU1IST on 3.512 MHz. Few guys were calling simplex, which was clearly covering him. Then, heard the hord 1 Kc up and in the clear, DU1IST was nicely readable.

But the hord followed and everything kept calling +1KHz creating a typical "European Low-band zoo". I quickly decided to call a bit higher, on +1.4Kc, and DU1IST replied to me after 3 calls !!!!!

Lucky shot, because after spotting "TU, wkd 1.4 up", I could hear the entire +1 - +2.5 Kc range totally covered by endless callers.

I didn't get those JD1/o on 40m, but was extremely happy with this DU1 QSO on 80m (I QSO'd with him on 80/40/30m !)

This is, in a month time, my 3rd QSO with Zone 27 which I've never heard in the past on 80m !!!!!! T8CC, JD1BLY and DU1IST. I miss KH0/KH2 there, but those are quite active and should be OK to be logged at rather short term.

In addition, I received this morning HH2/PY1ZV QSL for our 10 and 40m QSO ! 2 new bands for Haïti. I miss HH2 now on 15 and 80m, let's see what HH2/HB9AMO will bring us, HI !

December, 28th

Well, that was as unexpected as you could imagine but from my small city lot, I could get my 2nd station from zone 27 on 80m with JD1BLY in the log on 80m CW !!!!!! This is my 2nd new band for Ogasawara this year thanks to CW (1st one being 10m LP !!!!)

Quite weak here, but good one !!!!!! New one of course on 80m, I'll look for them on either 40m or 12m (or both, HI) to finalize JD1/o on all bands,

Hi all,

Well, very nice morning today with JD1BLY Makoto from Ogasawara in the log on 10/15m CW (LP QSO's). I missed him on 12m, in LP, there was too much QSB....But I hope that from the end of the expedition (2nd of Jan), I'll be lucky enough to get him on 12m (and 40 ?).

I also received XW3DT QSL for our 40m CW QSO, new one confirmed on 40m !

Tnbx both for QSO/QSL, and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU/YOURS !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

Tnx Babs and Loth for the QSO's from Cocos Keelings, as well as for the nice QSL received yesterday.

3 new bands confirmed (20/17/12m) for VK9/c, which I now need only on 80/40m.

Danke !

Ronan

All is in the title.

I remember T6JC QSO very well ! Conditiosn were tough, but that was my 1st DX in CW on 40m :-)

I also got the good surprise to QSO with EA1CYK/p from a Spanish Antarctica base, on South Shetlands islands, for a new one on 10m.

Apart from that, I'm having fun during my holidays in chasing E44PM, but nothing really difficult from here.

Chris, ZK2V, as terminated his wonderful operation from Niue, I still need Niue isl on 40m, but that will be (hopefully) for ZK2AC expedition beg onf next year, HI !

Hi all,

I'm on holidays for 2 weeks starting from today. And what I can say is that they started well : I got 3D2R QSL for 20/17/15m (SSB + CW) QSO's, all time new one confirmed. I aslo got YJ0ANR for our...12m CW QSO !!!!!!! I remember the pile-up on this last QSO, how lucky I was !

I also got DS3HWS QSL for our 10m SSB QSO, new zone (25) now confirmed on 10m, and last band for South Korea, As usually, tnx guys for QSL'ing !

I also got 4J9M in the log yesterday on 80m CW after a good half hour of calling. Not that strong, but the guy had good ears even in simplex. The hardest was to hear him actully among constant callers. This is my DXCC n° 180 on 80m, 20 more and I'd reach my main target....

GL !

Hi all,

I discovered yesterday evening that I could "tune" from my FT-920 the vertical antenna on 30m. OK, I only output 30-40W, but this could be enough to be a bit QRV on 30m band !

I then tried to answer CQ calls from 5N7M (he was 539), but he didn't hear me. Few mintues after, I heard 8J1RL CQ'ing, 579 here, so I tried my chance and went through: That was my 1st ever QSO on 30m.

Of course, with this power, I can not expect too much, above all within pile-ups. But being opportunist, this is a new band to be monitored !!!!!

This makes me say I need to install something more adequate on that band. Either a parallel radiator to the vertical (7.5m high roughly, but I fear about interactions with 80/40 settings), or something like a inverted-V dipole located below the HexBeam (it wouldn't be that high, about 6-7m high...).

We will see, but for the moment, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tonight : Forecast said wind will be blowing above 100km/h....aouch!

See you on 30m !

Hi guys,

What a week-end !!!!! Not because there was the ARRL 10m, but because I could "finish" T8 on all bands thanks to

- T88NU on 10CW during the contest

- T8CC on 80/40/17 and 12m.

Yes, you read correctly, T8CC from zone 27 on 80m CW with a very good signal. QSO was made at 20:10z, he said he was listening +1 to +2 up, but I heard some guys giving him reports on +2.4 KHz. I tried my chance on +2.6KHz and got through quite "easily", while the hord was fighting a few tenths of KHz down.  I did well, he rapidely went to 160 afterwards !!!!!! We need to be lucky sometimes !!!!

Before this WE, I had T8 only on 20/17/15m. And in a 3 days time, from Friday evening with T8CC in the log on 40cw, I could finalize zone 27 from 80 up to 10m, and that was totally unexpected.

Total zone number is now 198 (over the 200 possible). I miss zone 12 (Chile !!!) and 26 on 80m....Cross your fingers for me please !!!

Ronan, F8AFC

PS : as a bonus, I also got Razi, YI1RZ, on 12SSB for my very last band for Irak, tnx Razi !

Hi all,

2 nice QSL in the mail yesterday, with D9A (AS-0.26) now finally confirmed on 40m !

And above all, RW0CR, Alex from zone 19, for our 80m CW QSO !!!!!!!! (This zone 19 is hard to get, as it is an almost polar path !)

Tnx to all for QSL'ing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
