Hi all,

Just a short message to say I well received ZA0/I0SNY for our 40m QSO. I just need ZA to be confirmed on 12/15m to close this entity here (I contacted ZA1E on those 2 bands, just waiting the QSL now, HI)

Hi all,

All of you must know that today will start FT5GA from Glorioso, for a 3 week-long expedition.

This is the most wanted entity # 4, and for sure, it will make a lot of noise on the air.
- My personal goal is to get them at least once, whatever the band is. Of course, the more the better, but at least one for this ALL TIME NEW ONE.
- I don't dream about 80m. 40m could be hardly done but who knows. 20m should be OK during those 3 weeks, but not in the first days. 17m (and 15m) will depend on propagation. 12/10m would be a dream....

I fell like the day before K5D on Desecheo....I hope to get them on the same bands (from 80 up to 15m), but propagation is by far very different. Same kind of feeling "in the air" that this wll be a BIG event, longly expected, but who finally occurred thanks to long-term team preparation.

PLEASE:
- Apply some courtesy attitude on the air
--> Stop calling when he answered to someone
--> Stop calling if the operator gave 2 letters and that those letters are NOT in your call.
--> Stop calling if the operator asks for NA and you are in Europe.

- Avoid dupes (to give a chance for small pistols)
--> check on-line log frequently.

- Listen to the operator !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
--> This is the minimum each of us could do

Needless to say there wll be a lot of "stupid" things happening on the air, QRM, Policemen, etc etc...The usual noise for this kind of expedition.

Please, be patient. The expedition wll last 3 weeks, operators are highly qualified. Most of us will normally be able to put Glorioso in their log. But there is no point in "being the first"....

Good luck to all !!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

Following my previous QSO with the supposed "4W6AL" during the WAE contest, I wanted to check the on-line log to be sureI was in this ALL TIME NEW ONE log.
But on the 12th of September evening (my QSO was at around 12:20TU), I was not in the log......

I sent an email to his manager who replied VERY quickly informing me that 4W6AL only worked 4 stations on 20SSB, without participating in the contest (the guy I talked to gave me a contest number...)

I worked a FAKE !!!!!!!!!

I was very dissapointed, and decided to take another chance on the 13th (Sunday afternoon). He was barely readable here, without too much takers. This was certainly due to the QRM generated by the contest.
I called a couple of times, and made the QSO.

My fear was that I worked a pirate again. But after checking 13th of Sept on-line log, I was really in his log. Ouf, this one was now sure !!!!!!

I'd like to thank his manager, CT1GFK, for his very quick answer (to avoid dupes !), as well as for the everyday update of his on-line log. This is a very useful tool to avoid making dupes with this rare entity.

- 4W6AL on 20m, ALL TIME NEW ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,
Just coming back from holidays on TK-land (Corsica), and just preparing my business trip to South Korea (departure tomorrow), I made a QSO with Guam on 17m, new one for me...I now have Guam on 40/20/17/15m, not that bad.

I'll be in South Korea during the All Asia SSB contest next week-end. I'll try to be active froml there if I can. Let's see.

But I'll also be back on the 11th of September, the day before FT5GA on Glorioso (Lucky !)

See you soon again, maybe from HL land, HI !

Hi all,

After many months of chasing Lionel on the high bands, I could get him yesterday on 12m !!!!!

For most of European guys, making a QSO with Lionel on 12m is quite easy because he is very active here.

But for me, located at only 200km from him, this is EXCEPTIONAL !!!!!!!!! He is located too closely for normal skip, and too long for direct wave QSO.

In fact, the few times I hear him, it is ALWAYS in side-scatter propagation, and opening lasts a few minutes (seconds) ONLY !!!!

But that was enough yesterday to make the QSO.

Tnx Lionel for the new one on 12m, see you maybe on other bands (10 and 15m? My last bands for guernsey....)

Hi all,

My 2 goals I had with this 3DA0 expedition was to get them on QRP (done with 5W yesterday on 17m), as well as on 80m (my very last band for Swaziland).

Yesterday evening, 3DA0TB was active on 80m, with realtively good signal but with a lot of QRN !!!!! He was fully understandable on the HF2V about 50% of the time from 20:00z (around) till 22:30z.

First working by number, I arrived too late (he was counting down, and already done the number 8)...When arriving at "0", that was a general CQ witha  huge Eu pile-up only up 3 to 5. I did try to call him, unsuccesfully.
Then, he went QRT for about 10 minutes (everybody must have thought he went QRT), but he didn't. When he was back, working simplex, a few guys worked him, and that was my turn.

I repeated my call couple of times with a 5/5 report, and think he got everything correctly (and gave me same report). That was tough to reconstitute what he was saying because of QRN and QSB, but we did it !!!!!

When looking at my log, I see I've worked him on 80/40m, as well as 17m QRP. I'll send him a direct QSL for sure. But I'd like to know if there is an on-line log (even updated after the expedition ?) to double-check first.

Anyone knows this ?

Hi all,

Everything happens, even miracle...I got today T77NM QSL after 2 direct letters and many emails sent.
Why insisting so much...Well, that is my last band (80m) for San Marino. I got T7 on all bands now.

Thanks for QSL'ing Matteo. I just wish it would have required less "effort" to you and me.
