Well, this WE has been rather good for PZ5YV...I got them on 3 bands (20/17/15m). QSL via buro to IT9DAA.

I also QSO with Carlos, WP4U, on 12m...Nothing on 10m, but it is a good sign to hear 12m open to NA/Caribean  sometimes...

Today  is the last day for Jersey expedition...
Even with the low QRB (150km), I could contact them on 20/17/15/12 and 10m (new one on 15 and 12m)...
This short distance is a problem on the high bands when the skip is open to EU. But I was lucky enough to get through the pile-up and to add this DXCC on 2 new bands. The hexbeam did it again !!!!!!!!!

Now, I've got Jersey on all HF bands !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all the team for their great job !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Chaï for your nice QSL cards for our QSO on 20 and 17m.
I've very happy to confirm the 17m QSO, because Thailand has been only recently (12th of October, 2007) authorized to transmit on this band !!!!! (as well as 12, 17m and CW portion of 80/160m)

Hi all,

From the last few days, some French op and a scottish one are on Jersey isl (GJ) untill the 6th of January.
Jersey is not that difficult, except that for me, the distance is about 150-200km only...This means that when skip is open, I can hear them roughly S4-S5, when south EU or central EU comes 59++++. So it is quite tough for me to get there in the EU zoo....

I missed Jersey on 15 and 12m...I'm now in the log on those 2 bands (Thanks to F5MOO and GM4FDM for those 2 new bands...They are my latest ones !!!!!!! I'll now have GJ confirmed on ALL HF bands, yes !!!!!!!!!!!)

Hi all,

After one week of everyday trial on the band, I could QSO with Helmut who signs KC4AAA until...yesterday night.
QSO happened at about 20:00z in very tough conditions here : 14.177MHz is noisy here in the evening (S5 noise), and Helmut signal never exceeded S2...

I was everyday in touch with Volker, ZS1Y, and Stan, SQ8AQD. Volker was very helpful in spotting every Helmut's appearance on the air (roughly same hour, same freq), and Stan was helpful in spotting his reports. It seemed that during one week, propagation skip was a lot better to central Europe...
But yesterday evening, it was the first time I Heard KC4AAA so "well" and could make the QSO withc only 100W and the hexbeam ! Stan couldn't hear him...which means propagation was really localized !

That's a new base for me, a new Antarctica "country" base. Hope to get the QSL from K1IED :-)

Thanks again to Volker, Stan and Feco (HA8KW) for their gentle support during this past week.

Hi all,

After QSO with FJ/OH2AM on 20m and FJ5KH on 17m, here is a new expedition from St-Barthelemy, the very new DXCC that may enable me to add it on other bands...

Members of the KH8SI group are happy to announce their upcoming activity from the newest DXCC entity, Saint Barthelemy island.

—————–
With the help and support of FJ5DX, FJ5AB and FJ5KH, both Yuichi JR2KDN and Paul F6EXV will sign FJ/F6EXV (callsign used for SSB and CW) and FJ/JR2KDN (callsign used for RTTY), from January 6th till January 20th.
Activity will be on 160-10m, with beam antennas from Cushcraft, vertical and dipole antennas, Yaesu FT2000 and FT857 plus 500W amplifiers.
QSL via respective home calls, OK on qrz.com

————-
Please note the following :
1/ F6EXV will do CW, but is not primarily a CW op. He will do his best, be patient with him.
2/ Several hams have been involved in the preparations. The list would be too long, but let them be thanked already for their help.
3/ A web page will be available for log checking, though access to internet will not be possible from the operating location. Do not use the clusters to ask us to QSY places, it would be a waste of time…Logs will probably be uploaded every 2 or 3 days, depending on internet access. Details to be given soon, as page is being constructed now.
