Hi all,

Nice opening on 12m today, with 3B8DB and J79ZG (new DXCC there) and YB0NFL (new DXCC and NEW ZONE).

YB0NFL was really peaking 5/7 here at 13:00z with slight QSB. 3B8DB had a steady 5/8 report.
J79ZG was peaking 5/5 this evening with some QSB, but finally in the log (I just need J7 on 10m now to "clmose" this DXCC)

Thanks to both for QSO's !!!!

Hi all,

A new oen for me tonight on 40m : 4U1ITU.
Clearly not a "DX", less than 1000 km from my QTH. But that was HAAAAAAAAAAARDDDDDDDDD !!!!!
So many people calling, all the time. It was almost impossible to listen the guy in Geneva.
I was lucky enough that he could hear me, and that I could hear his answer. But here it is, a new one on 40m....

In one month time, I'v e been working quite a lot of new ones on 40m (at least 5 or 6, incl TX5, FT5, etc). This winter season looks promising, HI

Hi all,

All is in the title, HI !
2 new ones..One is a new zone confirmed on 17m (still need QSL for Mongolia from zone 23, and my first QSO with zone 1 and 31....). 37 zones confirmed on 17m so far, not that bad...
Second is a QSO with HP3AK on 12m. I remember very well this QSO, and more generally this evening propagation on 12m, with QSO4s such as TI8II, HP3AVS HP3AK etc.
For this QSO, I sent a direct QSL with 2GS. Jay kindly replied directly to me including 1 GS, with a small word "1 $ is enough"....This is rare, and this courtesy has to be pointed out !

Thanks to both op's for QSL'ing.

Hi all,

This is what we call a long path opening on 80m, and also a short one (1 hour of possible opening from here).
But this morning, I QSO'd with TX5SPA on 80m. They were coming in with a real S5 sgnal, without to many callers.
I was first surprised to hear them (this is a long polar path !), and I decided to take my chance and call them.

I got into the log after a few calls only (remember, I'm only using a HF2V with 48 buried radials, and about 500W PEP from my AL811H amp). What a thrill, what a surprise,to make ths QSO. Propagation was definitely with us, the timing was perfect (W6ELprop S/W said that 05:30z was THE time for this QSO).

Needless to say this is a new one for me on 80m, HI ! I was certainly helped by the fact the guys are using a 4-square there !

Well, getting Austral islands on both 40 and 80m makes me say that the HF2V is still running very fine (I've never heard Austral islands so far until those 2 QSO's ! ). It made a long time since I hadn't done some "DX" on 80m, and getting this area of the world on this band is always a challenge for us in W-EU.
This time, the low-band season has definitely started !

Hi all,

This is a GREAT week-end !!!
Just got the FT5GA on 12m SSB for my 5th band (40/20/17/15 and now 12m !). This is purely great Sunday, after 3D20CR on 20m.....

Wish they'll go on 10m SSB...and maybe try 3D20CR on another band. But already, I'm VERY happy !!!!!!

Good DX to all,

Hi all,

GREAT GREAT GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been working yesterday morning 3D2MJ from Fidji on 20m (short path). Readable signal (S3 here), and a lot of QRM, but I'm almost sure he could get my call OK (Not many "8AFC" calling on the same freq as me, HI !). This is an ALL TIME NEW ONE for me !!!!

And this morning, 3D20CR from Conway Reef...Never heard before, rare DXCC, and a good signal up to S5 here. I've been looking for them yesterday, but there was no SSB activity. And this morning, I could see some spots from friends of mine in Southern France (F4DPT). So I thought I would try and at 06:00z, went on the freq. Nothing at all !!!!! That was too early, so I went back home, took a coffe, and retunred to my "shelter shack" 20 minutes after. He was there, peaking S5. Band opened quickly, and split was wide (+5 up to +20). He was calling UK stns +10 to +15, and I standed by and when he came back to "All EU", what a mess !!!!!! I decided not to call at the end of the split as I generally do, but I was listening to the split and noticed he was making QSO's with big guns from Scandinavian. So I decided to listen strong OH/SM signals and to call right after the QSO. It worked after a OH3 station. What a thrill to hear "Fox 8 again.....?".
I gave my call a couple of time, quickly, and got the answer "F8AFC you are 5/9"...Even if this is a "expedition report", what an exctiment to receive a report from Conway Reef, at the Antipodes from my QTH !!!!!!!!!!

Here we are, 2 ALL TIME NEW ONES in the week-end, this is exceptional !!!!!

Let's chase the FT5GA on 12m/10m SSB, HI !
